We've all been there. New year, new me. New habits, resolutions and goals. Most of these goals never get fulfilled, nor do they take priority over the countless other tasks that take president in the new year. So we've decided to tackle some of the new year's most requested resolutions. Losing weight. Here are 6 things that are easy, and proven ways to lose weight.

1. Fewer calories
Most people would go duh, of course eating less will help. Yet, it's not just about eating less. When eating, one needs to be conscious of what you're eating and base your ratios well. In order to have the few calories that you do take in the matter, they need to keep you full till your next meal.
2. Intermittent fasting
You've probably heard about this technique before, yet, what is intermittent fasting? Intermittent fasting is the practice of consuming nothing but water and super low-calorie liquids for a large portion of your 24-hour day. Most people stick with an 8 to 16-hour split. 16 hours of the day is reserved for fasting where no meals are consumed and 8 hours for eating your 1 or 2 meals. This is paramount. Do not consume 3 or more meals in this time period as a normal practice as this will only cause indigestion. I've usually set 2 meals for when I'm really hungry or 1 main meal and a snack later that night.

3. Exercise
Yes, you knew it was coming. If rigorous activities aren't done throughout the day you can go on whatever diet you want, you'll either lose nothing or lose weight super slowly. Basic weight training does wonderful things for your body, mind and overall well-being. The reason we say weight training is because it burns more fat a much less cost to the heart. You maintain a lot more fat burn than exhaustion. The main issue I always had with cardio is that you work yourself to death for the same amount of calorie burn as with weight training.
4. More is less
This method ties in greatly with the first step. Yes eating fewer calories will help tremendously, however, it's what you eat that will help after the fact. So many diets leave us craving more food afterwards, not because we didn't have enough food but because we didn't eat the right foods. Less bread and more proteins. Fewer carbs and more vegetables. Fruits can be misleading at times because having too many sweet fruits are also not very beneficial as you will still be eating a lot of sugars, natural yes, but not healthy in large amounts.
5. Mindset
Your mindset can play a massive role in losing weight. We have all heard the phrase, "mind over body" and it's entirely correct. Your mind controls how your body functions and breaks down fats. There are studies that point out that simply thinking about exercising can have physical benefits.
6. Do not eat late
8 PM. Simple as that. Don't eat later than 8 at night. In fact, it's even more beneficial if you're an hour or 2 early on that threshold. Just don't eat more than 2 hours before this time as it will leave you craving food later on in the evening which will usually make you compulsive and eat the quickest available thing.
To some up. Losing weight isn't easy, but no one said it has to be hard either. Losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint. And the most important thing to have is a rhythm and allowing your body to adjust to your new lifestyle. Because all of the above methods can be made part of your lifestyle and can be continued even after you have met your goals.
